Peritas were engaged to re-engineer the Broome Toyota dealership and saved significant cost by the reduction of steel and concrete in the building. The structure was designed to be cyclone rated to region C according to AS1170.2: 2011. The showroom part of the building was designed to contain a dominant opening and thus internal pressurisation to be experienced if a projectile penetrated the glass facade. However in the workshop our engineers utilised concrete panels which provided penetration resistance as well as adequate weight for holddown.
